Chairman
Reinhard Fischer, DHL Group, Bonn
Access to the Internet, the use of e-mail and the global exchange of information, goods and services are prerequisites for carrying out any economic activity and are essential if one wants to be perceived on the market and to survive successfully. Especially as an export nation, Germany depends on companies offering their products and services worldwide and maintaining international business relations. In addition, electronic commerce is an essential tool for increasing efficiency in companies and reducing bureaucracy in public administration.
The aim of the technical committee is to reduce administrative burdens and make business processes more efficient. Laws, regulations and procedures are therefore critically examined with regard to their manageability and administrative burden, both from a legal and technical and an organisational point of view. Concrete proposals for harmonisation and improvement are made, whereby electronic commerce is becoming increasingly important in this context.
